Sell your Ford, even when the company owns it.
A good share of the Fords we are asked about are on the books of a business: a ute bought through the company, a van with a logo on the door, a car on a novated lease through work.
The paperwork has a different name on it and the appraisal does not care. We come to the vehicle, make a firm offer at it and pay by bank transfer the same day.

The two with pages
Start on the page for the Ford you actually have
- Sell your Ford Ranger Plug-in
- A ute that plugs in, so there is charging gear and tray gear to count, and both go into the figure. That page is about what is fitted and what is coming with it.
- Sell your Ford Mustang Mach-E
- An electric car that is still signed in to your phone. That page is about the handover: the app, the key cards, the charging gear and the battery reading.
The full Ford list
Every Ford we buy, grouped by what it actually is
Electric cars, plug ins and one hybrid, with a work van among them and nothing mild in the list.
Battery electric
- Mustang Mach-E
- E-Transit
Plug in hybrid
- Escape Plug-in
- Ranger Plug-in
Hybrid
- Escape Hybrid
The E-Transit, the Escape Plug-in and the Escape Hybrid are up there without a page of their own. We buy all three, the van included. Choose it by name in the form, add the year and the kilometres, and the person who calls you back knows what it is before the phone rings.
Nothing in the Ford list is a mild hybrid, which makes this one of the simpler lists on the site: a Ford here is electric, it plugs in, or it is the one hybrid that does not. Whichever it is, the questions that follow are about who owns it, what is owing on it, and what is bolted to it.
On the books
A vehicle the business owns sells with a different name on the paper
Who signs, who is paid and what the accountant needs are three things that are easier to settle on the first call than at the vehicle.
When a company owns the vehicle, the person selling it is usually not the person on the paperwork. A director signs. The payment goes to the business account rather than a personal one. The finance, if there is any, is in the company name, and the lease might be through an employer rather than a bank. None of that is a complication to us. It is a different set of names, and we ask for them up front.
So the first call covers who the registered operator is, whether there is finance and in whose name, and who has the authority to sign the contract of sale. If the vehicle is on a novated lease through an employee, we deal with the lease company for the payout figure and pay it directly. If the payout is more than the vehicle is worth, the shortfall goes to you in writing before anything is signed. Your accountant gets the contract of sale and the payment record, and what they do with them is between you and them.
The vehicle itself is appraised like any other. We come to where it is, the yard, the depot or the driveway, look at the whole of it including whatever has been fitted to it for work, and make a firm offer at the vehicle. Then we pay by bank transfer the same day, to the account on the paperwork, and the contract is signed on a phone by the person entitled to sign it.
Two questions
Two things business owners want settled first
The ute is in the company name. Who has to be there when you come out?
Somebody who can sign for the company, or somebody who can produce the authority of the person who can. Tell us on the first call who that is and we book the visit around them. The payment goes to the account on the paperwork.
Do you buy the vans as well as the cars?
Yes. The E-Transit is in the list on this page and it is bought the same way as the Ranger or the Mustang. If the van has a fit out in the back, tell us what is staying and what is coming out before the visit.
Tell us which Ford it is and whose name is on it. We come to the vehicle, make the offer and pay the same day.
Or call us on 03 9000 0075 and talk it through first.
